Samsung Techwin has released a new camera with that is said to be able to compensate for backlight 128 times more effectively than previous models.

The SHC-735 day/night camera uses advanced pixel technology to deliver 560 TV lines and incorporates SV IV – the latest fourth generation chipset in Samsung’s Super Vision series.

Also offering three-dimensional noise reduction technology SSNR II, the SHC-735 should be able to deliver bright and clear colour images even when lighting levels are as low as 0.0001 lux. Designers say this is made possible by the camera’s 256 x Sens-up.

Samsung is marketing the SHC-735 as a ‘true’ day/night camera, featuring an infra-red cut filter, a digital image stabiliser (which compensates for camera shake in strong winds) and privacy masking for up to eight areas.

The camera also includes intelligent motion detection that is said to allow users to programme different detection levels for up to eight separate areas of an image.
