The major enhancements of S3 to previous versions include (but no limited to):

- faster operation
- more user-friendly configuration steps
- support either SMS command configuration or interactive command using analog phone
- indicators clearly stated the zone triggered
- allow 3 levels of defense: At-Home, Away, and Always-On
- zone name can be customized
- delay alarm supported
- phone calling and silent SMS alert can be set independently
